Update till date - A Travelling Teddy Bear

Hi All, it had been quite some time since I updated this space, ha-ha.  This year is really a changing year for me as I have change a new job for the first time after 5 years and this year, I have really changed quite a fair bit, travelling more often to overseas, giving myself more time for work-life balance as it is seriously affecting my sleep and what I love for.

A Travelling Teddy Bear
This year, I had travelled to Hong Kong, Penang (Malaysia), Bangkok and Malacca (Malaysia) recently, which may not seem much to the likes of frequent travelers. But it is worth noting that I had not been travelling intensely due to my heavy workload as well as my part time university studies despite seeing my colleagues going on their oversea vacations through leave or no pay leaves. For most of time over the past 5 years, I can only travel short trips nearby as I had used up majority of my leaves for my preparation for examinations and my work projects are rather pestering due to the short deadline.

One of the highlights for my trips this year is my trip to Hong Kong which I had originally planned to go back in 2015 as promised with someone that I had lose the chance forever to fulfill my promise. For this trip, I was accompanied by my Parents to visit all those famous eateries shown in my friend’s self-made food guide with photos, reviews and address. Kudos to my Dad at the age of 81 years old, had accompanied me in my hunt for my food. For sure, this is definitely not a feat that your regular 80s can ever do.  During the trip, I had tried many famous foods, like the Australia Diary Company, Kam Roast Goose, Champagne Court Pork Cheese Noodles etc and of course not forgetting my favorite Bird Nest dessert from The Sweet Dynasty.

For my trips to Penang, Bangkok and Malacca, I was accompanied by my good friends who are familiar with the surroundings; bringing me to eat good local food and Fine Dining food that I love. In these trips, I get to see something different, something intangible that I don’t get to see when I am in Singapore.

Another highlight at the end of this year will be my upcoming trip back to Taipei fully sponsored by my current company and my own extension after that to visit some interesting places that I wished that I could had went previously. Not only that it is a regular trip, as I have lineage traced back to Taiwan and it had been a good 14 years since I set foot back in Taipei ground, a place once familiar to me when I was there during 16 years old to visit my dying Maternal Grandmother at Wan Fang Hospital down the Mu Za line. That also explains why I can speak much better Hokkien and sing better in my Hokkien songs because it is natural for me, lol. Much has changed over the years and it will be a totally different feeling for me now when I visit my Uncles, their families and my little Sister in 2016. And of course, my usual highlight is to go for all food that I love J that has never changed.

My Life is usually filled with regrets as i had to focus on different things at point of time of my life, time to see the world while i am still alive.
